Mystery Loves Company Booksellers To Host Author Donna Andrews

From the Mystery Loves Company Booksellers Facebook Page:
“It is official Donna Andrews will sign “The Real Macaw” on Saturday June 23 in Oxford at Mystery Loves Company. We’ll finally find out what Meg names the twins. Please join us for a fun afternoon. Reserve a book and rsvp by calling the store.”
Mystery Loves Company is located in Oxford, Maryland:
  • We are a full-service bookstore located in the beautiful waterfront town of Oxford on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We offer books on the Eastern Shore’s history, flora and fauna, and fiction for all ages, as well as an in-depth collection of mysteries, both new and gently used in hardback and paperback.
  • We provide friendly service to the well-read mystery reader, as well as those who are just getting started, with helpful recommendations for new authors
  • We gladly accept want lists which we fill from our store stock and our additional 30,000 books in our “warehouses.

Sounds like  a well run independent bookshop and one that’s been around for awhile.

And so they have:

“Orginally founded in Baltimore in 1991, Mystery Loves Company remains the only store specializing in new and gently used mysteries in the Baltimore-Washington area and from New Jersey to Florida. Since 2006 we have been  located in the beautiful waterfront 360-year-old village of Oxford MD (pop 700).”

Although I’ve never been in the store, I’ve heard wonderful things about it over the years. If I were in the area, it would be a must see stop.

If you like traditional mysteries and haven’t yet read Donna Andrews, I’d be surprised, lol, but just in case, Donna writes wonderful witty fun mysteries with Meg and her somewhat eccentric family as the focal point of the series. Each title contains a different type of bird–from her acclaimed and award winning first book, Murder With Peacocks, to her latest which is the one she’ll be signing at the store, The Real Macaw. Donna has been nominated for The Agatha Award for almost every book in this series. The Tea Pot award is voted on and presented at the Malice Domestic convention each April. She’s been nominated and won so many other awards, it would fill another page. Suffice it to say, she is quite popular and deserved of that popularity and acclaim.

So if in the area on June 23, check out the store and Ms. Andrews. She’s just has cool in person as on the page.
