As the U.S. gears up for Thanksgiving and the ever-changing Black Friday sales, the focus tends to be on electronics, video games, toys and clothes. There are, however, a multitude of deals available for book lovers of all kinds. Whether you’re looking for print or e-books, new books or classics, e-reader devices or book lights, there will be no shortage of great deals this coming weekend.
Barnes & Noble
Although a bit stingy with the sneak peeks, there is going to be plenty to find on sale at Barnes & Noble. In addition to a 30% off one item coupon available both online and to use in stores, there are also some other really cool deals.
First, a selection of signed editions of some of today’s best authors, including David Baldacci, Michael Connelly, Anne Rice and more. Though quantities are limited, and only in stores, some of these books will certainly make a book lover in your life happy. Amazon
If there’s anywhere people love to shop, it’s amazon.com. You can’t deny it, even if you don’t want to admit it out loud, but they’ve got everything from paperbacks to ball gowns, E-books to power tools and basically anything you can think of. Despite typically focusing on online retailers like this on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend (Cyber Monday), Amazon is still having some regular Black Friday deals, but they’re doing it all week instead of just one or two days. With 20% off electronics that include their Kindle Fire HDX 7″ and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, they’re focusing on a much wider variety of items than books, but still including popular items like those mentioned above. New deals appear to be popping up every ten minutes or so, making it necessary to keep checking in. There are pages of books for up to 50% off, but you have to really look for them. Half Price Books
Offering a free tote bag to the first 100 people on Black Friday, with a $5.00 gift card inside (and one of the lucky 100 will get a $100 gift card!), the store is also offering coupons for use on that day. $5 off a $25 purchase and $15 off a purchase of $50 or more. Though most of their locations are in Texas, Ohio and Illinois, there are still enough stores in Washington, Arizona, Wisconsin and several other states to capitalize on the deals. Books-A-Million
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, Books-A-Million will be offering a variety of sales on “books, toys, tech and more,” and has released a PDF of their flyer. With everything from bibles to deals on a Nook reader to the latest in the “Diary of A Wimpy Kid” series by Jeff Kinney, take a look and see what might be on your reading list. There are tons of locations and lots to choose from.
The Rest
What follows is a list of links to some other places that sell books or book-related items, both online and brick and mortar stores, that have put out their sales, coupons or ads for Black Friday 2014.
According to The Huffington Post, the best deal you’re going to find for a tablet is the one at Meijer. For just $79, you’ll get a Kindle Fire HD 8GB Tablet plus a $20 Meijer Custom Coupon.
