The Bookshop Blog is always looking for new contributors. We focus on helping others to be better booksellers and are interested in the viewpoints of both brick and mortar shop owners/managers as well as online dealers. We also like to dabble in book collecting and news from the publishing front. If you are interested in joining us simply fill in the Contact Form below letting us know which Level interests you and a little bit about yourself.

The site now attracts over 5 000 unique visitors per month, has received a Google Page Rank of 5, has over 145 subscribers and has just been completely overhauled giving it a much more professional appearance. I continue to market the site vigorously and expect these numbers to continue growing.

Level D -

• This is more for a one-off submission with no reoccurring or very infrequent contributions

• All articles would contain links to the author’s web presence and full credit given

• No permanent link is offered

Level C

• One original post every 6 weeks would be expected (more frequent is fine)

• All articles would contain links to the author’s web presence and full credit given

• A permanent link on the bottom right of the Blog under ‘Who Writes Here’ is offered

• If no posts are submitted after 6 weeks then a 2 week grace period begins, if after the 2 weeks nothing is submitted the permanent link would be removed, though never links or credits in the article – those will always be permanent.

• Some posts will be selected for our sneeze pages (original posts get more exposure).

Level B

• One original post every 3 weeks would be expected (more frequent is fine)

• All articles would contain links to the author’s web presence and full credit given

• A permanent link on the bottom right of the Blog under ‘Who Writes Here’ is offered

• A permanent Bio page with photo (if desired) and links

• There will be a tab in the main section for ‘Featured Writers’ containing a permanent spot for your posts (the most recent 10 posts from all Level B contributors)

• If no posts are submitted after 3 weeks then a 2 week grace period begins, if after the 2 weeks nothing is submitted the contributor would fall into the Level C group.

• Some posts will be selected for our Monthly Best pages (original posts get more exposure) as well as sneeze pages and the feature boxes just below the main tabbed area.

• Level B contributors will be first in line for a Level A spot once an opening becomes available.

Level A

• Level A contributors are paid

• All the same links/exposure as Level B

• An original post would be expected every 2 weeks. We would expect the posts to more than a 250 word blurb though essays are not required (but appreciated). There will be a 1 week grace period after which the contributor would fall into Level B and the position would be offered to another contributor
