All book lovers I know love to share knowledge. The store you are going to work for has, I'm sure, their own method of doing things for there are different ways books can be cataloged.

Your best bet is to let them know you are willing and eager to learn and will need a lot of help. Don't pretend to know something when you don't. Ask! - It will go better for you to ask instead of appearing foolish while someone else has to correct your errors.

Make friends and be willing to go the extra mile to help both customers and your fellow employees.

If a customer asks for a particular book ask someone in the know instead of wandering around with a blank look. Saves lots of time that way.

During your breaks for the first couple days you might just wander about and study the layout.
