Here's the place to have more in depth discussions about any postings at www.BookshopBlog.com. We just posted a rather in depth article buy Guy Weller of Mr. Pickwick's Fine Old Books. Any opinions/comments?

What about having a separate Forum Thread just for the Blog?  I read quite a few articles today and have lots to say, but felt odd commenting there.  I like the community we have going here, so I would love to keep discussing on this board instead of on that site.  But, that's just me  Wink

Perhaps the title of this thread could be changed to "Bookshop Blog Discussions" and let 'er rip from there.

You could add another category but will the different categories eventually get too unwieldy?

Could we turn the un-named "Need a name for this section" section into something for this purpose?

Ohh! Decisions! Decisions!  Huh? I'M SO CONFUSED!   Huh? Good thing Bruce is here to figure it out.

Hi Guys,

I've changed this area to 'Discussions on Postings at The Bookshop Blog'

We can use 'The Meadows' for other ramblings & I can also create another area if need be.

The fine art of Book Pricing was well written and has lots of little jewels in it. Thanks for taking the time to write it and post it Bruce.

I appreciated, - quote - A few other tips to remember. There are a few online booksellers that consistently overprice books (I mean way over price). You will get to know their names fast enough. If you see one of them price a book at $150.00 please do not price yours at $145.00. Do your own research, perhaps simply say to yourself, “What would I pay for this?” If you feel that it’s a $40.00 book then mark it at $40.00 or even $20.00 if you need a quick sale or if you picked it up for $1.00. - end quote -

I've seen a couple of the sellers you're talking about. I'd think less than twice about buying from them and feel it can only hurt their business in the long run. As soon as a buyer finds they've been overcharged they will never be back. At that rate a seller would never have a customer base.
