A bookstore like every other business can be impacted by a down turn in the economy. The best thing one can do is to dedicate a certian part of the store to books that can interest people who speak all langages. Example, professional books in English. Or even beter educational books, ESL for example. If it is an online store then all you need to do is a simple switch!

I love reading a book but often get over distracted easily by the tv or the computer. I have a few unread books but always go to buy more but sometimes its just the price that puts me off. I reckon if there were more second hand booksotres near me I'd definately read more.

They sure can. Books are a cheaper form of entertainment than video games, or dvds. A used paperback at half price is a pretty good deal. His statement about selling to foreign markets is spot on. Ebay will let you sell anywhere in the world, so will ABE. Many book dealers make a mistake when they say they will sell only in the United States. It costs almost nothing to sell in Canada as well as the United States. Book rate international is a pretty good deal for many people in foreign countries. Get over the idea that they are somewhere else if they are willing to pay for the postage. The world is a lot closer together than many people think.
